Fun Day at Feather Dale Park
Had a family fun day at Featherdale park (http://www.featherdale.com.au) in Sydney on 1st December 2011. Part of my pre-school’s excursion, I was joined by my dad, mom and lil sister for a day’s outing..
Good that my dad took a day off for me
The outing was organized as part of the preschool excursion. By the way, I go to Concord West Rhodes Preschool in Sydney (a preschool recommended to all 4 year olds).
Went to the Featherdale park by car though I desperately wanted to go by bus. Just so that my lil sister (Ritika) could join.
Featherdale Park is a wild life park minutes away from the city of Sydney and a must visit for kids. Easily accessible by car, we were there in 30 minutes from our home.
Privately owned, featherdale park provides a short glimpse of Australian wildlife. Kangaroo, Wallaby and Emu are a treat to watch and at touching distance. I was too scared to feed them. However my friends had a great time feeding them in a ice-cream cone.
Just a short walk around the park (unlike the Toranga Zoo or other large animal sanctuaries), we were able to cover end 2 end within 2 hours (before lunch) without even getting tired.
We had gone in a group but I stayed with Michael – my best friend, or so I think – most of the time. Ritika was more excited than I was…and kept on running here and there. Mummy was more interested in sheep and goat (maybe since she can’t see them more often here as much as u see in Indian streets).
There are several places where you can get stamps – Animal stamps and I was busy collecting them. Peacock was the most exciting since it started to dance and kept on dancing till we were there – a treat to watch…
We had an extended lunch – got a chocolate icecream; ate choco more and ice-cream less, as usual. Returned back tired but happy – worth the time spent.
